Civil Ceremonies
Ceremonies with civil validity must be celebrated in the elegant Town Hall of Mazara del Vallo which is situated in the historical centre. They take just ten minutes and are celebrated by the Mayor or Civil State Officer who will conduct a brief and informal ceremony. Bride and Groom appear at the Town Hall with two witnesses (local residents known to the Mayor) with all required original documents.
Outdoor Civil Ceremonies
In order to have an outdoor civil wedding with legal effects, first it is necessary to perform it at the Town Hall (see Civil ceremonies). The Mayor or the Civil State Officer will then meet you later (hours or days) at the venue you have chosen. He will then conduct a full marriage ceremony in front of your guests.
Catholic Religious Ceremonies
Foreign citizens can be married in Italy according to the Catholic rites. In this case, the ceremony must take place in a Catholic Church. Mazara del Vallo is also well known for its 100 churches. Big churches and small chapels are found at sites with ancient religious origins. A separate civil ceremony is unnecessary because the priest must register the marriage with Civil State Officer in order to be legal.
Symbolic Wedding
A Symbolic Wedding essentially consists of a blessing or a symbolic ceremony. You can celebrate in our Resort, without limitations or restrictions. Usually the couples who choose this type of ceremony have had a civil ceremony in their home country, and arrive in Italy for a wedding according to Italian tradition, in historic sites, or a private setting.
